      A+++++ would listen again

I hope this makes the Relentless Ban make more sense to more people. I really think it's the right decision.

      PS: lol inventions

That was a great listen, thanks guys!

Just wanted to touch on the Iron Will conversation I believe it was Dave that said as the active player you could control the order your opponents effects resolve in. That's actually incorrect as the active player all of your effects go off first (which you can choose the order of) and then the inactive players go off. (in the order they choose)

You can find that rule under "Timing Conflicts" on page 22 of the World's finest rulebook.

Banned cards do happen in CCGs. However, look at what was banned in the WOW TCG under UDE's watch - absolutely nothing. Bans don't have to be the thing that happens. (there were bans after CZE acquired the game) It's justifiable, but that doesn't mean its always the best choice.

Granted but WoW didn't last that long (about 7 years total, and UDE had four of those years) and UDE has proven over time to not be great managers of game systems. Further, bans usually become required after a certain amount of cards are released and unexpected/unintended interactions occur. Not knowing the game, I have to wonder if UDE missed the boat (certainly Vs. System had bannings), or if it wasn't until the game went on that such interactions required bannings.

Also, I'll point out that the spiritual successor to that game, Hearthstone, has/had cards nerfed by the nature of being able to edit a digital release.

I was talking about simultaneous effects but I might have gotten mixed up. Good catch!

I'm usually the guy that hates experimental formats - but I wonder if there shouldn't be 3 main constructed DM formats. One that rotates, one that never rotates, and one that doesn't rotate and doesn't have a ban list. I wonder how their metas would develop over time.

I noticed an important error in the podcast. The best band is obviously They Might Be Giants. THAT is the perfect music to accompany an OCP binge.

if you consider Bard with Cloudkill and Guy with Spectre midrange...

Bard having to purchase both Cloudkill and Spray to win is T5 with ideal rolls. It's very difficult to maintain the correct bag management to do that without PXG (but possible). 5 turns is more than enough for an opposing team to setup some defenses and save energy for some blockers (e.g. "oh, you're drawing cloudkill next turn, but you brought parallax? Well I'll just reroll my sidekicks to energy so that I know I can block after your cloudkill and spray"). At that point, the pilot had better have a midrange strategy.

@Pocolius actually talks about how Guy players need to be able to put the rush together on several later-game turns. http://www.thereservepool.com/thread...)-Top-8-Finish

So I think it's fair to say there's a shift to favoring midrange teams. Your T3 opening is still incredibly important (and will likely always be), but as long as you've got a strong defense by T3, it can be competitive now to set up to win in the midgame.

Just listened to the Podcast. Great as usual. I may also of miss understood where you were going with this, but I think something that may help with understanding the Ironwill ability is that Ironwill doesn't prevent the damage. So looking at the ruling http://win.wizkids.com/bb/viewtopic....496925f860e484
The fact that the blockers both have 6A isn't as important as the fact that two sources of damage hits the Superman die. Overall, the Superman takes 12 damage, its just the second source of damage allows the die to be KO'd, assuming he's met the criteria like taking equal or greater damage than his D value. The Superman would of been KO'd as long as two blockers end up with enough overall damage to KO the Superman die. I.E. One has 2A the other has 4A would still KO the 6D Superman. Hope that helps some that may of been confused about it.

I'll admit, I haven't listened to the Podcast in a long time and I started listening with the very first episode up until just before Dave left. Most of that was because I was more heavily involved with my Pokemon Judging which I wish I would have quit sooner now... But anyway - Loved the new episode and I plan to continue listening now as well as listening to the Attack Zone!

On the banned cards - No surprise that I'm super happy about it and I agree with you guys completely on how this ban is healthy for the game. I used to judge MtG and Pokemon, so I'm used to rotation/bans of some sort. You all did an excellent job of making all the best points you could in favor of the ban.

And you're all wrong about the best band... It's System of a Down.

Great Podcast and look forward to more!

I do enjoy TMBG. Especially their hit album "Here Come The 1,2,3s". If you have kids, you need to have that album on rotation

Well, you wrote it yourself - Bard can run PXG, but I admit, it is not clear how Bard teams should look like after bans.
With Guy, I think the problem is partially in the presented version - running Ring instead of PXG makes the team less consistent and gives your opponent more blockers. If you maximize the ability to win on turn 3, you don't need to rush in "multiple waves".

System is a killer group, no doubt. Was fortunate enough to see them during the Summer Sanitarium tour. They were the opening act back then with Kid Rock, Korn and Metallica. A-Maz-Balls!

Jealous! Haven't been able to see them live... Shavo is my favorite bass player, that's still alive. My all time favorite bassist would be Cliff Burton and my favorite piece of his is obviously - Anesthesia.
