Sad I'm going to miss the con this year! It was such fun.

I'm excited to possibly get to meet more TRP folks! Narwhal was a great representative. This is going to be my biggest event as a player. I've judged for other games with 1500 - 2000 folks, but haven't played in them.

And I haven't heard any whistling on anyone's mic, but I would have totally said something if I had. I have bad hearing too though, so that could be why, lol. XD

Side note unrelated to the episode - even though I currently live in west Tennessee, I grew up in north central Texas, about an hour or so away from the DFW area. I think Stuart is even close to my age. I wouldn't be surprised if we had crossed paths somewhere years ago. :P

      Oh my!

Would be hilarious if Stuart had an ex-gf named Kat, but I promise it's not me!

As you guys were talking about potential new sets, you didn't mention Star Trek. Wizkids has Attack Wing and a couple of different Clix based games. Plus they have a new game based on Mage Knight. Makes sense to see them offer a Star Trek version of DM.

I could totally see an all inclusive Star Trek set. My nickname around our FLGS is Klingon Kitty. I would totally be a Klingon if I could.

Great point. Hadn't thought of that. Spock vs Batman!

I think a Star Trek set could really work. It would have to be the characters, with the Ships being either actions or, more likely, things like "Transporter" and "Torpedoes" as actions. I'm looking forward to making my Captain Archer Anti-Bard team. Oh yes.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier appears as an action die, so I could see Enterprise or some other ships as actions. That would be cool. But I agree @OddballNarwhal that I would rather see characters. Maybe they could use the equip mechanism like in D&D to give them phasers, tricorders, hyposprays, and other gadgets.
@DiceDiceKitty , I agree. I think a Star Trek set like Turtles would be really cool.

Oooo! I like the equipment idea - Red Alert! would be an awesome Action too! There are so many iconic things they could use from Star Trek. They could easily do multiple all-inclusive box sets.

I would also like a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic set - either booster or box set. It would work great either way. I play the Pony CCG from Enterplay and they could totally hook up with them for character names and whatnot.

Star Trek Dice Masters sounds good to me - as long as in those sets sidekick/NPC dice are officially rebranded as redshirt dice.

As entertaining as this scenario would be, I grew up in Phoenix and have only been in DFW for 8 years ;-)

Redshirt NPC's, as long as the dice were red, I'm sold!

could someone please link to the bat family team that was mentioned? I think you said that Jenna played against it (or at the same event).

Also, I really enjoyed the discussion on win condition. If anyone is interested, I'd like to see some turn by turn examples of how a win-con can hit 20. (preferably with a win - con that is NOT one of the mainstream competitive ones.)

Not the one that played Jenna, but my Bat-family team took 2nd in our WKO:

Also, I thought JT's review of his "The Best There Is" team was a great example of a T3/T4 team that definitely wasn't "mainstream" (although it was fairly competitive).
