Prepare for the 2016-2017 WizKids Road to Worlds!

    Greetings WizKids Fans,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 WizKids Event Season, kicking off with WizKids Open events all around the world in November, 2016!

We’re happy to announce that we will be running WizKids Open events worldwide during November, 2016 and February, 2017 with another round, in the U.S. only, during May, 2017. For the November and February WizKids Opens, we will be sponsoring events at 15 U.S. stores and 15 international stores spread out around the world, and for the May events, we will be sponsoring another 15 U.S. events! Because we want to spread the wealth to all of our stores and players, each round of WizKids Opens will feature a number of different locations not featured during any other round of 2016-2017 WizKids Opens. This means that you should not despair just because your nearby store was not selected for the November events because there are going to be additional opportunities for a WizKids Open to be near you! Each of these WizKids Open events will hold Regional Championships for HeroClix and Dice Masters that allow players to qualify for the 2016-2017 National Championships in the country in which the WizKids Open is being held!

On top of WizKids Open events, we will be hosting National Championship events in Canada, Mexico, Chile, U.K., Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Central Europe, South Africa, Australia, and Southeast Asia between the beginning of March 2017 and the middle of May 2017. Each of these events will have access to all, yes all, 2016-2017 HeroClix and Dice Masters Convention Exclusives, including all prizes and for sale products. On top of all of that, there will be National Championship events for HeroClix and Dice Masters, which will allow top performers to qualify for the 2016-2017 World Championships at Origins Game Fair 2017, as well as many other exciting side events and Convention Exclusive for sale products.

Following the WizKids Opens and National Championship events, players can head over to the 2017 Origins Game Fair and compete in the biggest WizKids gaming events for a chance to be crowned a 2017 World Champion, or simply spend time playing your favorite WizKids side events with friends in an effort to rack up some prizes!

We look forward to seeing each and every player at our events this year, so come on out and play at the highest level of competition that WizKids offers!

    Best,

    -The WK Team

Think they may yet use the 3 die opening draw for these or because they are posted they would have to stick to current rules?

@Lordfajubi - It likely depends on how well the tests go. We'll know once those are over.

I'm just looking for the chance 😊 I didn't know if some where in the tournament rules if it stated that once scheduled the rules for the game itself couldn't be changed. It would be kind of messed up to allow early games the 1st turn advantage and nix it later. My vote is to change them all and I hope for the best. Lol

I don't think there are any such rules. And plus these are just date ranges, not location, times and dates. We still don't even know for sure if US Nats will be at Origins like this past year or on a different date/location like the first year. Still lots to reveal and plenty of time to plan! =)

November is only a month away. That is not that long to decide what is going to happen. I believe those test tournaments that are happening in October could be important though.

My local store is hosting one of the Fall WKO events, in Olympia Washington, in November. I am one of the TO's and if anyone was considering attending and needing to travel I am working with a local hotel within walking distance for a group rate. anything I can do to help out people from out of state, feel free to message me and I would be glad to assist as much as possible!
