Love this. Way to differentiate yourself from the standard WKO. I will attempt to make one of these now.

Calling Bat Family as the first winner for prime.

How do you figure? Prime cuts out Fabricate, BEWD, Doctor Doom, Magic Missile, Aquaman, etc. so the Alfred Engine is basically dead. No Retaliate shenanigans, no Dick Grayson beater, no easy Bruce Wayne tag-ins. It's a largely dead archetype after this gutting of support cards (which I support wholeheartedly).

I'll be interested to see how quickly everyone jumps onto the Casey Jones bandwagon now that most easy field-clear has been nixed.

Except that there are no villain-making globals anymore either! Without those, Casey gets sidekicks out of the way, but not the whole board unless the opposing team focuses on villains.

And I think you've essentially nailed the really big thing about this format: It removes all of the massive, all-encompassing supports and counters. No Hellblazer, no Spray, no Thief, no Fabricate...we'll have to think outside of the box, and come up with new ways to play and win. And those ways to win will be vulnerable to more specific counters, rather than "Oh I play one action and all of your characters have no text", or "Alright, I wipe your whole board and fill up my field with 4 Batman dice". I really look forward to seeing how this goes.

Oh there's a way. Maybe I can get a reasonably close event to showcase it, though there are 2 other teams that immediately stand out also.

Also remember, there are nearly 200 character/action cards and 20 more BAC's that will be reased before the first Prime event is even run! So much will change in the next 4 months!

I can't wait to see what comes! I just really hope that the BACs we get for IM and WM starter, SM and WW starter, and TMNT: HiaHS won't be repeats of existing cards. I'm praying that they will all be brand new and wonderful.

The other kicker is that there are not a lot of forms of ramp anymore. We lost: Ring + Res, PXG (about time), D&D Swarm, Villainous Pact, Big Entrance, and even Shocking Grasp. So right now we are hurting for ramp. The only thing that we can use ATM will be Mindless Ones Swarm or Multiple Man. MM has the added actual cost of being a hard to get and expensive card. People can use his UC version, but I don't think it will have as much as an impact as the 2 cost will.

Truth is there will still be 2 more sets before the first event I believe and whatever comes out with that will probably be a few replacement cards for the cards that will be officially removed from Wizkids. I am very happy with this even if I do like Professor X.

Luke Cage - Bulletproof might do something for you, but there's no energy fixing or swarm to guarantee the fists, not to mention he has to be active. Also, if Alfred Abuse gets big, you can count on people picking up Agent Carter - Behind Enemy Lines now that there isn't as much competition for their slots.

Surely we are forgetting how strong Rip is, and star labs plus a Sidekick fixer from GAF is actually a SUPER strong ramp engine. For two energy you get an energy next turn and EITHER a blocker OR the exact energy your team prefers.

It is very strong, especially in the void this format creates.

Brother Fights Brother? It's going to be harder to buy action dice with no dragons.
Rare Scarlet Witch KOs all your sidekicks when fielded. Much harder to set up the timing.

I have unlimited confidence in my Rare Satchel team now.

That could be fun. But I'm not sure even MDCVH would have that much confidence in the SOUW. :-D

Batbomb is slower, but if you use the four cost Batman (I think his caption is "Speedy Recovery") with Luke Cages global you can knock him out every time you take damage and he comes back at level 2. Just spam yourself with the Luke Cage global, and you capture their dice while returning Batman to the field. It would pump up Dick Grayson some just not as much as Alfred. I put together a team with this, but I haven't test played it any. In theory, it could work, but it would be slower.

Okay, that could be an interesting setup. I think it'll be slower than something like Two-Face Turbo, but That could actually do some reasonable work in the new format.

Yeah, I was planning on running a Batbomb setup before for another event focusing on this instead of Alfred, and now, I have more of an incentive to do it. The main thing is going to be getting the energy together for a Dick Grayson purchase, but even without him, level 2 Batman has an attack of five. If you use the Luke Cage global enough you keep capturing their stuff with Bruce, and if you have unfielded Batman dice, you bring them out at level 3 every time you knock one out. I think it could be viable, but it's definitely slower than Two-Face.
