• Amazing Spider-Man Dice Masters Predictions

After doing my 6-month look back at our Age of Ultron predictions, I decided to give this a go. Some of these are single characters and some of them are groups. All of these picks have some reason behind them... except one. (But some of you might already know what that prediction is.) For consistency's sake, we will keep with our 1-10 scale, with some of our other contributors chiming in along the way. In case you missed it, here's our list of confirmed characters: Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, Kingpin, Gwen Stacy, Aunt May, Blink, Agent Venom, Cloak, Dagger, and the Sinister Six. Let's get started.

Let's get the most popular prediction, and maybe the character people want most out of this set, out of the way first... Carnage. He's a fan favorite. He's relatively current in comics. He's a big part of Spider-Man's history, especially when it comes to gaming. Carnage has been featured in Heroclix, as well as Marvel Legendary, and has been the big boss in more than one Spider-Man video game. He probably will have some sort of direct damage to opposing characters, or be able to increase his attack value at will.
    Randy's likelihood: 9

If we're getting Carnage, I'd really like to see Shriek. She's been Carnge's main squeeze on a couple of occasions, and plays a large role in the fan-favorite Maximum Carnage series. Like Carnage, she also appeared in the Marvel Legendary deckbuilding game alongside other member of the "Carnage Family". My thoughts on Maximum Carnage have been well documented, and Dave has mentioned on more than one occasion that it's near and dear to him as well. In a perfect world, I'd LOVE to see Carrion, Demogoblin, and Doppleganger make it in as well. I think Shriek is the most likely, and I'd be perfectly content if she was the only one of those four to make the cut. Especially since Cloak and Dagger are confirmed.
    Randy's likelihood: 6

Maybe this is cheating. I don't care. I'm combining three characters in this entry. We saw with Age of Ultron that the set took heavy influences from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I think we will finally see the rest of the stars from the upcoming Marvel Netflix series: Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones. We saw Deredevil in Age of Ultron, and the Kingpin has already been confirmed for ASM. There's a Chance we see Fist and Cage without Jones... but Dice Masters has been pretty good about gender equality thus far. Yes, the guys outnumber the girls, but no more than in the comics themselves. I'm excited to see what the Heroes for Hire bring to the game.
Randy's likelihood: Iron Fist 8, Luke Cage 8, Jessica Jones 7

Speaking of Daredevil... there's a certain scarlet-clad assassin that I'm shocked hasn't been in the game yet. Elektra. She should provide some cheap character removal, which is always welcome. Not much else to add here... I'm confident Elektra will be in the next set.
    Randy's likelihood: 9

Switching gears, there's one character that really stood out in the initial reveal. No, not Aunt May. I'm talking about Blink. Blink made her first appearance in Uncanny X-Men #317 and really gained a fan following during the Age of Apocalypse epic. Why would Blink possibly be featured in the Amazing Spider-Man set? Because she was a member of the time-traveling super team, the Exiles. Again, why is that important? Because this guy was also one of the Exiles: Spider-Man 2099. I'm going out on a limb and calling my shot. We will see our first real alternate universe/timeline character. (The artwork for Magik was a version of the character that existed in an alternate reality, and AvX's Thing and UXM's Spider-Man both feature artwork from their Ultimate Universe counterparts.) Is predicting Spider-Man 2099 as a character a bold prediction? Possibly. But not as bold as predicting that he will be a super rare. You heard it here first... Spider-Man 2099 should be a super rare.
    Randy's likelihood: 8

Speaking of alternate Spider-Men... let's run down a quick list of ones we'd like to see without going in to too much detail: Iron Spider, Scarlet Spider, Ben Reilly, Superior Spider-Man, Spider-Punk, Symbiote Spider-Man, Man-Spider, Miles Morales... not to mention the various Spider-Girls/Women: Julia Carpenter, Spider-Gwen, Mattie Franklin, Anya Corazon... the lists go on. There have been so many alternate Spider-Men and Women. I think we'll get a new Spider-Female of some sort, I wouldn't be too surprised if the revealed Gwen Stacy turns out to be Spider-Gwen. Since I already have Spidey 2099 slotted for the set, I don't think we'd see ANOTHER alternate Spidey. (Unless we see alternate Spider-Men as chase variants, should they keep that feature in future sets.) I think there's a much higher chance of getting another female Spider character.
    Randy's likelihood of an alternate Spider-Man: 3
    Randy's likelihood of an alternate Spider-Female: 7

We've already been told that the Sinister Six will be in this set. I know there will be plenty of them, but let's just look at a few of my favorites: Eectro, Hobgoblin, and Boomerang. Electro is my favorite Spidey villain. I have Electro's first appearance, Amazing Spider-Man #9, actually signed by Stan the man himself. We saw the Zombie version in Age of Ultron, so I fully expect to see a regular version of the character this time around. Hobgoblin is a little different. I used to hate the Hobgoblin. Green Goblin is Spidey's rival, and Demogoblin was awesome in Maximum Carnage... Hobgoblin is just, blah. Something changed along the way. It was during a recent run of Spider-Man, where multiple Hobgoblins were battling it out. It opened my eyes to the versatility of the character. And Boomerang... Boomerang is the man. I've said it here or there, but anyone who like comic books should hunt down the 17-issue series Superior Foes of Spider-Man. Boomerang was the main character, and it was perfect. I'd love to see other characters of that series (Shocker, Speed Demon, Overdrive, and Beetle) all appear. But if Boomerang is the only one who makes the cut, I'll be thrilled. But, let's be honest. He's never been a fan favorite, and doesn't have a remarkable power set.
    Randy's likelihood: Electro 9, Hobgoblin 8, Boomerang 5

Last but not least... my pipe dream... The Slingers. Prodigy, Rocochet, Dusk, and Hornet were all identities worn at one point by Peter Parker until the costumed personas were picked up by four college students. These are my guys. It's not likely that we'd see them... but if we don't get them in a Spider-Man centric set, then we may never see them. So Wizkids. I beg you. Include these C-listers in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man set, and you will make me very very happy.

Did I skip your favorite character? Like Black Cat, Rocket Racer, or Chameleon? Do you think some other side characters like Mary Jane or J. Jonah Jameson will get themselves character cards/dice as well? What about some other non-Spidey characters, like Punisher or Blade? (BTW, I'd love to see Blade.) Post in the comments section to let us know who we left out. Roll on!

I'd love to see Mr. Negative, he's become a recent favorite of mine. Hammer Head would be cool to, I could see him having an overcrush ability or something that let's him plow through blockers. And I'm hoping for more sybiotes not just agent venom. And as for alternate spideys, spiderman noir is my pick.

I agree with the slingers. They were actually pretty central to the modern spidey mythos. As far as other characters go, I think black cat is pretty obvious, but I would like to see Tombstone with overcrush in there as well.

Rhino would be a total Overcrush candidate. I would love to see a Mysterio with control elements, but above all with ? energy. How crazy would that be?

I could see some new/old characters, like Venom and Doc Ock.

With Zombie Electro, I'd say a normal Electro would be a 10/10.

I second Mysterio...he would have some awesome control abilities. A new version of Doc Ock would also be a good thing. Vulture is also probably a good candidate.

Spidey and Wolverine have teamed up a few times...I wouldn't be surprised if we see another version of Wolvie as the token classic Xman in the set.

...and Carnage is a must...I think Randy may be aluding to it, but anyone else remember the classic Maximum Carnage Sega Genisis game? That was epic. The hidden easter egg of Spidey Bowling was a lot of fun.

I would also like to see Mysterio. He could have some neat powers. I wouldn't mind another doc ock or sandman either. Maybe they'll throw in firestar from the old cartoon days.

What I hope they do is mix the set with Daredevil, since a good amount of his and Spider-man's villains overlap. We could then get characters like:

      Black Tarantula
      The Hand (ninjas)
      El Jaguar (Hydra)
Silvermane (rival mob boss of Kingpin)
      Typhoid Mary

      Then there's:

      Spider-Woman 2-5
      Spider-Girl (MC2 universe)
      Spider-Gwen (Earth-65)

Respect for your bold Super Rare prediction of Spider-Man 2099. I'm going to say that Kingpin is another.

If I was going to bet, Electro and Elektra would almost have to be in the ASM set. Gladiator might be another solid pick. Sandman, Kingpin, and Rhino would all be awesome to see.

      July: Age of Ultron
      August: War of Light
      November: The Amazing Spider-Man

Their release schedule is ridiculous, no wonder their rules text is half-baked.

      Got to haves:

      Spider-Man 2099
Venom (McFarlene art would be awesome)
      Black suit
      Doc Ock Spider-Man
