Nice podcast. Question for @Dave : Based on your comparative comments, it sounds as though you believe that Uncommon Ultron Drone will make a bigger impact on the competitive meta than Zombie Magneto. Is that an accurate takeaway for a listener to believe? Thanks and keep up the great work!

It's hard to quantify this stuff, so I guess I'll sidestep it slightly.

I think that Ultron Drone is a win condition, whereas Magneto is not. Other controlling cards either provide a win condition (Jinzo, in his solid stats and life loss ability) or are so cheap in terms of purchase and/or fielding as to fit into your normal early buying pattern if needed (Constantine). Magneto doesn't provide any of this.

I think he'll be something to know how to play around, and in that sense he will have an impact on the meta, but I can play around him the same way I would play around a Constantine, and what's more, I have time to figure out that deterrent, as Mags is 6 cost. Now, you can gear a team up to get your Magneto fast, just like you could poly in a Hulk, but if I'm going to do that, I want it to be something that helps me shut the door like the aforementioned Hulk or Jinzo.

Magneto is best used as a sometimes-buy for a team that thinks that it's weak against something that relies on Gobby or Johnny Swarm. Then again, you have to really sell out to get him out fast enough and some significant damage may already have been done. And more, those are the only kind of teams that he'll impact. Look at @Walsh 's team from USNats or Worlds, or my US Nats team, or really, your own worlds team. Your Tsarinas or your Constantines are about the only thing that are worried about him, neither of which carry abilities that are necessary for your win condition.

Now, back to the drone, I think the only question with him is speed - can he do it in a reasonable amount of time? That remains to be seen. I think he has a role as a centerpiece vs. Magneto's role as support, which is why I think he's the more interesting card to explore.

Yeah, it's not that I think that one is more meta impacting than another... we picked the cards that we did because we think they all will in some way. It's more that I wanted to highlight what I saw as the cons to Magneto, as he's getting a lot of love, and while it's a good card, I don't know that all the love is deserved. SOME is, just not all.
