• TRP Mini-Podcast 01: Dave Says Goodbye

We decided to put out a mini-podcast this week so we could give Dave an opportunity to say goodbye. In case you missed it, he has decided to step down as the Editor-in-Chief of The Reserve Pool, and RJRETRO will soon be taking over.

On this very special "mini-podcast", you'll hear from the founder himself, plus Shadowmeld and IsaacBV will have their segments you'd normally hear on The Prep Area.

We will attempt to bring you one mini-podcast a week until we are ready to launch Season Two.

    I hope you enjoy.

As always, share your thoughts in the comments, on the forums, on Twitter @TheReservePool and mailbag@thereservepool.com

Just finished listening to the podcast. Thanks again for what you did here Dave. Being a Canadian myself, I do welcome the rise of RJRetro, but I'll miss having the guy who could bring people on the podcast back down to earth during the spoiler-hype season around. Now I can only hope that we can continue to get by via mostly self-moderation.

If I could make one suggestion though, it would be that we sticky the "Positivity" thread that Dave started a while back in the general section. I'll be the first to admit that at first, I was unsure of exactly what would come of that thread. Harsher guidelines or censoring criticism? It was hard to judge at first. Now that time has passed, it's clear what the intent of the post was, to serve as a guide for just being a decent person on the internet. Nothing more, nothing less, and it's very valuable.

Browsing the forums, I do often see what you would call rose-coloured glasses, or even a bit of toxic behaviour now and then. I believe that having that post stickied above every other thread will help keep this forum a great place to be, since it will be the first thread people see every time they open the board up. It encourages self-reflection before posting, and it would be a shame to see it end up buried in the depths of older threads, only to get necro-bumped every now and then.

That all aside, and for the final time, thanks again Dave.

Well, I'm still around. Just not creating content or playing DM.

That's basically it. With a couple of exceptions this has been a great community, especially at in-person functions. There's no reason that can't also extend to the Internet. Especially among US based players, so many of us know one another in person. I'd imagine it's only two or three degrees of separation to most of the community in a given country. That means we ought to be less jerky online too.
