• DC World's Finest Starter Video Review: Characters (part 2)

Last time we hit the first two Batman Family characters in the starter. In this installment of the DC Dice Masters Starter Review, we're going to turn our X-ray vision to the first two Team Superman characters in the starter set: Krypto and Powergirl. These both offer some interesting options for a Team Superman affiliated team. Even the blank Krypto is worth considering.

Thanks again to the wonderful people at WizKids!

Check back later this week for the next installment of character reviews, Harvey Bullock and Oracle!

After Krypto is released, I think I'll be 3/8ths of the way to my "Animal Farm" team. If only they'd put out a Spider-Ham to join Rocket and Rage Kitty... then I'd officially be half way home.

Don't forget Hell Hounds, Displacer Beasts, and Blink Dogs.

My stall team is coming together with the addition of Power Girl.

You mentioned that the Powergirl 5cost can only be blocked by 1 character die, so might pair well with overcrush, but she says she can't be blocked by only one die. She is a blocker magnet, making your opponent dedicate at least 2 of their blockers to her. Overall though, you are right about the 6 costs being better if you can afford them.

D'oh! You're right. I misread it. Sorry... annotation time.

Still doesn't change my analysis much though.

Cheetah? Vixen? Heck, Penguin! Animals for days.

Both of these characters give some great options. I may be more impressed with the 5 pt Powergirl than you are. I think it would be interesting in the current Meta to put her out beside one or more other cards with the same effect (She Hulk comes to mind) and even just a little light board clearance to see what happens then.

I'd thought about trying a team like that using the SR Lantern Battery, but have just never gotten around to it.

The problem with the 5 cost Power Girl is you do need to have a different Team Superman character out to get that effect. In general she's about on par with the uncommon She Hulk. She Hulk gets the ability without the Team Superman caveat, but has higher fielding costs.

You're right on all counts, of course. I have such a personal tendency to go with themes and teams that my brain will sometimes assume I'm using them even when I've not thought it out consciously. I will probably get around to using this PG with at least one small Team Superman card and probably the She Hulk with another Avenger. I'm already trying to build a Hulk themed team with this She Hulk card as part of it. I appreciate any prompts I get, so thanks again.
