Wednesday – I woke up, got everyone (me, wife, and all 5 kids) ready and loaded in to the van, and began our 2 hour drive to Columbus. We made good time and were actually able to check in to our hotel early. While the rest of the family was going to go explore downtown Columbus, I made my way to the convention center about 45 minutes before it opened.

Welcome to my recap of the 2017 U.S. Nationals Tournament at Origins, where I went 13-0 on the day and took 1st place. I didn't take notes or pictures of the teams, so all of this comes from memory. Apologies for any errors that might be present throughout the recap.

A couple of months ago, some of the St. Louis players decided to start meeting ...

...and personally thank them for putting on an exceptional event at Origins this year. Despite being born and raised in Columbus, this was my first Origins and I was extremely impressed with how well everything ran. All the side events, all the Qualification pods, as well as the two major championships, everything ran smoothly and efficiently. The judges and other volunteers especially were very responsive and friendly at all times. The streaming (sadly only Saturday) was very much appreciated worldwide, ...

As an aside to Dice Masters news there are some awesome things going on here in the boardgame world. Dave and I are attending the Origins Awards and wanted to report the winners to you. Congrats to all of them!
