I return, with a new project.

I have a zest for Dice Masters once more, and a new project to boot.

Have a look-see: http://www.diceupyourlife.net/

You might be wondering why this project isn't on TRP. Fear not - note that I'm here, that I'm posting this here, and that I talk to the team pretty much every day. You'll be seeing/hearing me around here. I also thought that it was important to add to the volume of the community presence for the game - the more advocates, the better. This is all affiliated in some form.

However, I can't do set reviews anymore, not like I did. Those podcast sessions were absolutely brutal - both the editing and the recording. (Not Evan's fault - there were like 100 cards to go over!) Things like trying to juggle all of the information while also being the point person for a game store that was an hour away started to get like a chore and I let that get in the path of enjoying the game. No more!

DUYL is about an attempt to build up a scene from scratch, and I'm going to document it as it happens. I have zero idea where this will go. It might be overwhelmingly successful. It might be a miserable failure. But you can follow along with my mistakes, learn along with me, or maybe get some ideas of what to do or what not to do!

A post today by @Yort is what took this from a thing that I've been considering and working behind the scenes on for a while to something that is fleshed out and ready to get started as of - well, this evening really.

I'm looking forward to playing this game with you all again!

Glad to see your back. You were always so passionate about the game I knew it wouldn't be long.

Also, how convenient there's a Booster Gold die in that banner image...

I could tell you that was by chance, but you probably wouldn't believe me. :-)

Awesome to hear, and I will definitely be following along! I love the way you started on your new page - "Think globally, act locally."

The balance is definitely a tricky thing - I have a job, a wife, and three kids 7 and under that I don't want to ignore. But I've found if I can strike that right balance, Dice Masters can be a hobby that I am passionate about and that provides me with a lot of satisfaction, both playing and promoting. Kind of like knitting for my wife, except that, as she points out, I can't wear my Dice Masters when I'm done.

I look forward to hearing about your journey and the challenges you encounter trying to make this game known. I was recently surprised when I tried to recruit one of my board gaming friends from church to come play Dice Masters with us - I found out that he and a bunch of his friends had a bunch of UXM stuff and had played quite a bit in their circle around that time!

Bottom line: there are other people out there who are buying Dice Masters, and I want to play with them!

    Good luck!

    Have fun!

You pick. I would pick Have fun. There are so many things in this world that hurt, that are just silly in a bad way, etcetera. So I try to have fun in whatever I'm doing wherever I'm doing it with whoever is there. Basically only you can decide what that one thing is. For me it's have fun.
I like to tell the story about a temp job I used to have. I used to walk around singing to the radio laughing and smiling all day long. People that worked at this place would come up to me and asked me why I was having such a great time. My response was always the same I need to work to pay bills so I have to be here. That is why I'm having fun otherwise I would be working and I don't want to do that. Telling them that would just make them more upset at me.
