Gameplay: Dave vs. Lauren Sealed Deck

Rate this Entry
Sealed Deck, if you don't know, is where you take a set of boosters, open them, and create the best deck you can from it. It differs from draft in that you're stuck with what you get instead of selecting your best option and moving on. If we did this again, we'd have done a full team of eight due to the small amount of dice, but live and learn.

23:08 - Dave bought Harpie Lady Sisters but only had 4 energy available.

It's good to know that the core gameplay for this set seems to be in line with the others - I can definitely tell that I'd enjoy playing it even though I'm passing on this and D&D;.

Crap, I screwed that up. Can't believe I did that. This one gets a pretty big asterisk for me the.

Great stuff here. This game really is fun just as a two player casual tactical game. And what better way to celebrate opening a bunch of packs than to do an impromptu sealed draft. I am ashamed to say, as huge a proponent of drafting as I've been from the very beginning of this game, I never even had the thought to open packs from my grav feed AND PLAY WITH THEM AS THEY WERE OPENED! Holy crap this is a great idea! I will never open a grav feed the same way ever again. Thanks Reserve Pool!

Thanks for sharing. I look forward to future games. Maybe a mashup with Marvel so you can get PXG and ramp up to those high cost Yu-Gi-Oh monsters easier.

"When this monster attacks, it gets +1A for each other attacking monster."

Based on Wizkids response, I believe it should only count unique monsters.
"Cards worded similarly to Teamwork should function the same way. Meaning cards that count characters should be counting unique characters (active characters).";=1971&p;=7160&hilit;=teamwork#p7160

I've always enjoyed sealed play in MTG but I never got to play it that much because... well... lots of places don't. You're extremely limited by the luck of the draw here, but it's still an enormously fun casual way to play. We definitely plan on doing this again with future sets.

Ooo, good call. We didn't even consider that.

Hey, no worries. Mistakes happen, especially in casual play where you aren't paying attention to every little thing.
