WKRF what's the meaning of villains in pay. ..

Lantern Power Ring: Energy Projection deals 1 damage to target opponent for each opposing Villain character die in the Field Zone. It checks the dice for affiliation (whether they got it from their character card or some other ability or effect).

So within that same set we have...

    Looks at uniqueness:
for each of your active Villains.
    for each other active Villain.

    Ignores uniqueness:
    for each Villain you control.
for each opposing Villain in play. (This is wording on power ring, even though wk added words in their answer)
for each Villain die in the field.

    And I'm not sure:
for each opposing character with the Villain affiliation in play.
for each different Justice League character that attacks.

"Active" is the keyword here - it does not merely mean "in play" or "fielded" - it denotes uniqueness and the non-stacking of an effect.

It is why I get so irritated by the continual assertion by some that "while active" is the default for abilities.

    It is not.

"While fielded" or "while in play" is.

But the justice league one doesn't use active, but should have?
    It looks at uniqueness, correct?

The "for each different Justice League character that attacks" one?

I am going to stick my neck out and say, yes, I think that it most likely is intended to look for uniqueness and should read something like:

"for each active Justice League character that attacks"
