    containers: what to get?

Ok, so I have been using some personal containers ive had for a while, but now they are filling up lol. So heres my question:
whats a good container other than the standard "collectors box"?

reason why is because around my area, they sell the thing for 5 bucks above MSRP, and I don't want to pay shipping. I have been using a small case that fits 2 stacks of cards side by side, and a starbucks cardboard holiday box (had to upgrade to that, previous box was a smash-up expansion box)

So, whats a good way to craft a suitable box or find one that works well? I REALLY don't want to have to pay 30 bucks for a box just to properly hold my stuff. I technically can still use the smash-up box, but I can no longer put the card container inside, so that's why I upgraded.

This is what i use for my dice. It was under $25 for 10 including S&H. Took forever to arrive. I just use cheap ultra pro deck boxes to keep my cards in order by set and for extras i just have a big box they all go in.

I recommend you go to your local hardware store and look into small parts storage units. They're meant to hold nails and whatnot, but they can hold dice very, very well. You can find them in all sorts of sizes, so you could get some for your deck (this is what I use: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/ma...l#.VofPQ1IyJTY ) and some for, well, larger forms of storage (like, say, this: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/ma...l#.VofQOlIyJTY)

Heck, if you don't mind not being able to move it, you could get a huge amount of storage with one of these: http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/ma...l#.VofP9FIyJTY

Anyway, you get the idea. Good luck.

Will all your dice fit in a collectors box (165)?
I started writing out what I'm doing and realized that the scale might be wrong for you.
If you only have a few hundred dice, I'd suggest ZenBins and then don't read the rest of this. They hold 50 per tray (if you have a lid) and are expandable and if you get too many dice they are still good for day trips to a rainbow draft.
If you have more that 200 dice per set then you might be interested in what I have below.

I use these bead boxes, I pay $3 unless I have a coupon, and there's always a coupon.
I've got one per set now. I have 3 characters in each small compartment which leaves 2 or 3 compartments for spreading out, zombies, or random storage (basic action dice, what not). You can pack 36 dice in each slot, I've only just started overflowing some... I buy too much Dice Masters...

I also keep a bent paper clip in the box to help fish out the dice.

I keep a complete set of cards in binders, it's quick and I like flipping through them, and spare rares in a deck box for quick trades.

I keep all the teams that I'm messing with in a ZenBin. I really like the ZenBin but you're getting up near 20 bucks again and it doesn't compare to the bead boxes for mass storage per $. I got mine at miniature market.

go to the fishing section in walmart and find plano boxes, usually used for lures(clear box, about an inch or 2 deep comes in many different sizes/variations, usually has dividers that can be placed where you want them). Ive been using these for everything from DnD miniatures to heroclix for a decade now and haven't found anything more versatile. currently using one for my dice, fits everything perfectly. Plano is the box version of crown royal bags lol.

    Dice Storage: http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-15-Co...0034/204515485
each case gets two sets. AVX and UXM. YGO and D&D. JL and WOL. AOU and ASM. with one getting my stuff to carry for play.

    Card Storage: http://www.amazon.com/Ultra-Pro-PRO-...rhf_gw_p_img_5
Each set gets their own binder that is organized by set number with the op cards behind that. then the basic action reminder cards, then extra rares for trading.
